Abilities
Date: 2021-12-21 06:51 am (UTC)Summoning:
Rydia is from a race of people called Summoners, a unique group of humanoid people who have a unique ability to call on the power of Eidolons. Summoning is not without risk, as shown early on when Rydia is a child and her mother’s dragon is slain; it in turn kills her as well. If one of Rydia’s summons is slain or defeated in battle, it will result in her death.
★ Whyt - A Whytkin, a "larval" Eidolon that has yet to mature to gather individual abilities.
When Whyt is summoned, he replaces Rydia in battle and acts automatically, based on the abilities the player assigns it prior to battle. It has infinite MP and will act thrice before dismissing itself. Whyt, for the sake of RP, will only be used with player permission and previous plotting to use any skills. MP Cost: 50
★ Chocobo - A breed of flightless birds, characterized by their yellow feathers, distinct odor, and the unforgettable chirp, "kweh!" Domesticated for their gentle nature and quick feet, they are often used as a mode of ground transportation.
Chocobo Kick: Does moderate non-elemental damage to an enemy. MP Cost: 10
★ Goblin - A short, humanoid creature that wields an axe. It has a large curved nose, pointed ears and horns. It wears a green outfit with light brown shoulder armor and boots and dark brown pants.
Goblin Punch: Deals moderate non-elemental damage. MP Cost: 5
★ Bomb - Living explosives, prone to destroying themselves along with their enemies with their powerful "Self-Destruct." Bombs take the rage built up by being attacked and transform it into energy. This, in turn, makes them grow, sometimes to incredible sizes.
Self-Destruct: Deals Fire-elemental damage equal to Rydia's HP. For balancing purposes, it’ll deal less damage the more Rydia is exhausted and vice versa. MP Cost: 20
★ Mindflayer - What might from a distance appear a man in robes grows ever more hideous on further inspection, its face twisted into an inhuman mask that makes a mockery of nature.
Mind Blast: Deals moderate non-elemental damage and inflicts Paralyze. MP Cost: 20
★ Cockatrice - Cockatrices are typically birds, though they have appeared in other forms. Cockatrices often possess the ability to petrify the player characters, making them a potential danger.
Petrifying Beak: Attempts to inflict Petrify on one enemy and deals Earth-elemental damage. MP Cost: 20
★ Mist Dragon - It is a white dragon that can turn into mist. It is Rydia's hallmark summon in all of her spin-off appearances.
Radiant Breath: Deals moderate Holy-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 35
★ Titan - Titan, a great giant who rends the very earth asunder. The great chasms he creates in the ground can swallow up armies of soldiers.
Gaia's Wrath: Deals moderate Earth-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 30
★ Ifrit - Ifrit, the Infernal... Spouting flames hot and hungry enough to consume all they touch, he shows his foes no mercy.
Hellfire: Deals moderate Fire-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 30
★ Ramuh - Ramuh, the Elder Justiciar... His anger calls forth thunderclouds as dark as winter night, which deadly bolts dispense justice with the greatest of efficacy.
Judgement Bolt: Deals moderate Lightning-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 30
★ Shiva - Shiva, the Ice Queen... To incur her wrath is to feel your very heart freeze in your chest, for cold is her anger and swift her vengeance.
Diamond Dust: Deals moderate Ice-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 30
★ Sylph - Sylphs, the Fair and Seldseen Fey... Only when they work as one, fitting about on their gossamer wings, is the true wonder of their delicate strength revealed.
Whisperwind: Deals moderate Wind-elemental damage to one enemy and restores HP evenly to all party members. MP Cost: 25
★ Asura - Asura, queen of the Eidolons... Lady Wife of the Eidolon King, and gatekeeper to all who would address him. Only those possessed of wit enough to turn her strength against her, and so overcome her challenge, may address the king himself.
Asura's Boon: Either casts Raise, Protect, or Curaga on the entire party. MP Cost: 40
★ Leviathan - The Eidolon King... Born of the Northern Sea itself, he is the Lord of All Waters, and unchallenged champion of the Eidolons.
Tsunami: Deals heavy Water-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 75
★ Odin - Odin, the Reaver... Only once has he known defeat, and that only when lightning struck his fearsome blade. Zantetsuken: Attempts to inflict Instant Death to all enemies. For the sake of RP this could be nerfed to heavy non-elemental damage in boss battles. MP Cost: 55
★ Bahamut - The Hallowed Father... The First Sire, Hallowed Father to all Eidolons, watches over his children from on high. So indomitable is His strength that He has never known defeat. None could hope to emerge victorious against Him, save perhaps a warrior capable of rising to the heavens in order to deliver the felling stroke.
Megaflare: Deals massive non-elemental damage to all enemies. MP Cost: 99
Black Magic:
Shown to be skilled with magic outside of Summoning, Rydia is also able to perform Black Magic and is able to use and learn all of the spells for this Job Class as well. As she is postgame, she would also be able to use all of these skills listed as well:
★ Fire/Fira/Firaga - Deals varying degrees of Fire damage. MP Cost: 5/15/30
★ Blizzard/Blizzara/Blizzaga - Deals varying degrees of Ice damage. MP Cost: 5/15/30
★ Thunder/Thundara/Thundaga - Deals varying degrees of Lightning damage. MP Cost: 5/15/30
★ Sleep - Causes Sleep status. MP Cost: 15
★ Poison - Causes Poison status. MP Cost: 2
★ Warp - Warps the party back to the previous floor. For RP this would not be used without player permission, and can warp short distances unless in a building, which would then be to a previous floor. MP Cost: 10
★ Toad - Transforms the target into a Toad, or reverses the status effect. MP Cost: 10
★ Stop - Causes the target’s flow of time to stop, halting their actions. For RP this will not be used on players without their permission. MP Cost: 30
★ Osmose - Drains and absorbs MP from the target. MP Cost: 5
★ Drain - Drains and absorbs HP from the target. MP Cost: 15
★ Bio - Deals non-elemental damage that inflicts Sap, a status that drains HP over time. MP Cost: 20
★ Tornado - The user creates a tornado, dealing heavy Wind damage to the target(s). Also reduces target(s)’ HP to Critical levels. (Will nerf this to heavy Wind damage to enemies if necessary). MP Cost: 15
★ Break - Causes Petrify status. MP Cost: 20
★ Pig - Transforms the target into a Pig, or reverses the status effect. MP Cost: 10
★ Quake - Deals heavy Earth elemental damage to non-aerial enemies. MP Cost: 30
★ Death - Causes Death to foe(s). MP Cost: 40
★ Flare - Deals massive Fire damage to one enemy. MP Cost: 55
★ Meteor - Deals extreme non-elemental damage by summoning a meteor onto the foe(s). MP Cost: 99
Non-Magic:
Varied Weapon Proficiency: Rydia has been shown to be able to equip whips, knives/daggers, and the traditional Black Mage weapon of Rods/Staves. In one version of FF4 she is shown to be able to equip bows as well, despite the 3D version excluding this skill, so it’s to be assumed she has at least some skill or proficiency to use them (although I will have her not mastered this and needs to practice as she is from the 3D remake version).
